KILLEAGH GAA NEWS, May 2nd 2022

UNDER 15’S

The under 15 group had had a very busy schedule for the month of April with football games against Cobh and Youghal and hurling games against Carrigtwohill and Aghada. Credit to the lads as they ground out wins in all of these games putting them in a very healthy position in the league table.

Feile Hurling

Our team travelled to Ballynoe on Saturday 16th April to compete in the Feile hurling. We were placed in a group with the hosts St. Catherine’s, Bride Rovers and Fermoy. Each of the games were fiercely contested and with two wins against Bride Rovers and St. Catherine’s and a draw with Fermoy, Killeagh topped the group.

We played Youghal in the final of the day but unfortunately came up short. Overall, it was a very good day’s hurling with many positives taken from it.

Feile Football

Killeagh were delighted to host Feile football on Saturday 30th April in what proved to be a very entertaining day’s football.

First up we played our neighbour’s Youghal in a well contested game. We were down by two points at half time and the lads rallied in the second half to secure a well deserved three point win.

The second game against Aghada was a very close affair with the lead changing hands several times over the course of the game. Aghada prevailed by the narrowest of margins to top the group and progress.

Killeagh played some really good quality football and bodes well for the season ahead.

As with any event we host in Killeagh GAA Club we like to put our best foot forward and Saturday was no exception. A special word of thanks to all our parents who topped the group in the catering department with plenty of refreshments, sandwiches and home baking to be enjoyed.

Many thanks to everyone for their continued support.
