AGM TONIGHT

The Killeagh GAA AGM has been confirmed for this Monday, November 15th at 7:30pm. It will take place in the ball alley under Covid-19 protocols. Everyone is asked to wear a mask and be socially distanced with a Covid-19 vaccination cert.

Remember, it is your club. For you to have your say, you must speak at it because nobody else will speak for you at it! Make sure you attend on Monday night!

MAUREEN ROCHFORD RIP

Killeagh GAA extends our sincere sympathies to Ray Rochford and all the Rochford family on the death of his mother Maureen, who was just two months shy of her 100th birthday when she passed away last Tuesday evening.

She lived a long, healthy and productive life and we in Killeagh are eternally grateful that her son, Ray made Killeagh his permanent home in the 1970s after leaving Mountmellick a few years previously to study veterinary medicine. Ray has overseen the development of Killeagh GAA in that time from a struggling junior club without a permanent home to a vibrant, progressive club with facilities to match any club in the county.

Mountmellick's loss has been our gain! Maureen was loved and cherished by her seven children, and her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Ar dheis Dé go raibh sí.

UNDER 16 FOOTBALLERS OFF TO A WINNING START

Rebel Óg Coiste Premier 2B Hurling Championship Semi Final

Killeagh 3-29 Carrigaline 1-9

The U16 hurlers played Carrigaline in the semi-final of the championship on Sunday afternoon and what a display they gave us. With Sean Meade in spectacular form, scoring an amazing 3-11, and with the extremely hard working Colm Leahy, Dylan McCarthy and Darragh O'Brien all getting on the scoresheet, Killeagh pushed on to finish out the game 3-29 to 1-9.

Every single one of the lads played their part. They all worked very hard for each other, with the back lines in particular working as a solid unit to cut off all threats. There were some amazing catches, in particular by Colm Leahy, Pierce Geary and Diarmuid Buckley, some great hooks & blocks and a point blank save from Fionn Murphy. It was a great team effort and they fully deserve to be in the final.

Thanks again to all our amazing supporters who were in fine form too!

Team: Fionn Murphy, Michael Doherty, Harry Connon, Liam Considine, Pierce Geary, Ben Walsh, Dylan McCarthy, Darragh O'Brien, Barry Walsh, Diarmuid Buckley, Sean Meade, Jack O'Connor, Colm Cowhig, Colm Leahy, Andrew Burke, Eoin Kelly, Martin Power, Michael O'Donovan, Tadhg Considine, Jack Coleman.

They are now in the final against Eire Óg which will be played on the 28th of November but before that, we play in the Under 16 Premier 2B County Football Final in Bishopstown next Saturday, 20th of November, at 2pm. Your support would be greatly appreciated.
