UNDER 16 FOOTBALLERS OFF TO A WINNING START

Rebel Óg Coiste Premier 2B Football Championship Quarter Final

Kiltha Óg 3-8 Killeagh 4-11

The Killeagh Under 16 footballers had an early start Sunday morning playing their first championship game of the year against near neighbours Kiltha Óg in Dungourney. Because we were tight on numbers, some of the lads had to play in different positions from normal - thanks to Colm Cowhig for a solid display in goals and Sean Meade for having a fantastic first quarter at centre back before moving back to full forward.

Kiltha Og started well but we went ahead with a great goal from Pierce Geary. Some well kicked goals and points, and lots of wides, saw us win the game 4-11 to 3-8. Lots of improvement needed for the next day but it was great to see a couple of familiar faces (Sean O'Riordan & Martin Power) back in the green jersey! Well done lads and thanks to all the parents for the support.

Next weekend, we turn the tides as we host Kiltha Óg in a hurling knockout game next Sunday morning.

Team: Colin Cowhig, Harry Connon, Liam Considine, Michael Doherty, Darragh Pender, Sean Meade, Diarmuid Buckley, Barry Walsh, Darragh O'Brien, Sean O'Riordan, Dylan McCarthy, Pierce Geary, Michael O'Donovan, Colm Leahy, Jack O'Connor, Martin Power and Ben Walsh

Sunday’s U16 Hurling game vs Kiltha Óg was called off due to waterlogged pitches, so it has been rescheduled for next Sunday, November 6th at 11am in Páirc Uí Chinnéide.

EAST CORK BOARD MASS FOR DECEASED MEMBERS

On Monday November 8th next, there is a mass for deceased members which will be held in Killeagh church to remember those who have died in the past 20 months, especially Séan Murphy who was a serving delegate to the board for Killeagh GAA.
