These are the Glenville GAA notes by John O Connor PRO

Intermediate Football Championship
Round 3
Glenville 0.10
Glanworth 2.12

Glenville travelled to fermoy to take on Glanworth in their final group game, knowing a win could put us through to the quarter final. A very even first half had the teams tied on 6pts a piece, coming up to the break. A missed goal opportunity from us would have been a fillip for us but Glanworth kicked the last 2 points of the half to lead 8pts to 6pts in an entertaining first half. Our scores in that half coming from Shane O Regan, Dylan McCarthy, Sean Desmond, and 3 Josh Cooke frees.
The second half was nip and tuck with both defences on top . Scores were harder to come by and 2 points from Glanworth were followed by a Shane field point which was followed by a rousing Shane O Reilly score. The score now was 10pts to 8. Just before the water break Glanworth got through for a goal which was a sucker punch for us. Glenville went for broke in the last quarter and kicked 2 points from a josh free and a Pj Dennehy point. In the dying minutes Glanworth got through for their second goal and that was that. Final score was Glenville 0.10 Glanworth 2.12
Best of luck to Glanworth in the next round.
Well done to the team and management for their efforts throughout the year. This is a young Glenville side who competed well throughout this championship campaign and were unluckynot to get results in the previous games. The 2021 season is now finished for this group but they can look forward to 2022 with optimism !!

Padraig Kelleher Cup and Shield competition
Glenville U11 hosted Clyda, Rovers, Whitechurch & Carraig na bhFearr in the Padraig Kelleher U11 Cup & Shield competition on Saturday morning. What a fantastic mornings football. Our boys came through their opening game v Carraig with a superb display of passing, movement & scoring to face Clyda Rovers in the final who defeated Whitechurch on the other side of the draw. The final was a much tighter match that ebbed and flowed until the final minutes. Unfortunately it wasn’t to be our day, eventually losing by 2 points in the dying minutes.  The lads should be very proud of there efforts today. Whitechurch defeated Carraig to take the shield competition.
U17 East Division 1 football championship final
Glenville 0-8
St Colmcilles 0-7

Glenville produced another dramatic finish as Sam Dennehy kicked over the winning score in the last kick of the game to win by the narrowest of margins against St Colmcilles to take take home the u17 Cup.
It was st Colmcilles who were the better side in the opening quarter and raced into a 3 points lead at the first water back. Glenville came more into the game in the second quarter and points from Cian Cronin, Sam Dennehy and Joseph Riordan left us 4 points to 3 points down at half time.
It was st Colmcilles who started the second half the better and kicked over 2 more points, to put them 3 ahead. Glenville then upped there performance throughout the field and further points from Joseph and Liam foley had us one behind coming into the last few moments. After St Colmcilles kicked another point, Joseph replied with another free to leave us one down. When Joseph kicked over another free, the sides were level deep into injury time. Then with the last play Sam kicked a fantastic point to ensure we came out on top. This was a great team display, showing fantastic heart and commitment throughout the game when things didn't seem to be going right for us.
This was a great reward for this group of players as they have worked very hard throughout the year.

*Clubshop update for Watergrasshill GAA and Glenville GAA*

In 2021, both Watergrasshill GAA and Glenville GAA put their clubshops online with O'Neills Sportswear.

Coming up to the Christmas period, we are advising members of both clubs that club leisurewear ( e.g. jumpers, tracksuit bottoms and jackets) should be ordered online through the O'Neills website. O'Neills may have limited availability on certain items but keep an eye on the website as they are updating the online shop as soon as new stock comes in. Any leisurewear purchased from the O'Neills website with the Watergrasshill or Glenville crests sewn or printed onto it are considered personalised items and cannot be returned. Please refer to the sizing guide on the O'Neills website before purchasing any clothing.

Both clubs hold limited stock of club jerseys, shorts and socks and will do a shop together at a later date. This will be on a first come first served basis. Keep an eye on Facebook/Instagram for further details.
