Glenville GAA Notes.

U12s

Glenville 4-6 Douglas 3-10

Glenville Glenville U12s finished 4th in the regular part of East Cork Division 3 and met first-placed Douglas 2 in the league semi-final on Sunday 3rd of October. Back in August, Douglas had beaten us in our own backyard by 5 points so our lads knew that they were going to have to up their game when we travelled to Douglas. Playing with the wind in the first half, the boys were disappointed to be 5 points down at half time. A bit of soul searching during the break lead to a massive turnaround and at the second half water break we were only two points adrift. Phenomenal work from the backs kept the opposition quiet while clever and steely interplay from midfield and the forwards drew the game and earned us a shot at extra time. Unfortunately it wasn't to go Glenville's way and we lost by 1 point in the end. This was the second week in a row this group of players had lost in the dying minutes of extra time, having lost the Div 3 Hurling Final, wearing the colours of Watergrasshill a week before. Not an easy thing to stomach but the support they gave each other in defeat was testament to the boys' strength of character. A tough couple of weeks for a great bunch of lads who are without doubt on an upward trajectory.

*Clubshop update for Watergrasshill GAA and Glenville GAA*

In 2021, both Watergrasshill GAA and Glenville GAA put their clubshops online with O'Neills Sportswear. Coming up to the Christmas period, we are advising members of both clubs that club leisurewear ( e.g. jumpers, tracksuit bottoms and jackets) should be ordered online through the O'Neills website. O'Neills may have limited availability on certain items but keep an eye on the website as they are updating the online shop as soon as new stock comes in. Any leisurewear purchased from the O'Neills website with the Watergrasshill or Glenville crests sewn or printed onto it are considered personalised items and cannot be returned. Please refer to the sizing guide on the O'Neills website before purchasing any clothing.

Both clubs hold limited stock of club jerseys, shorts and socks and will do a shop together at a later date. This will be on a first come first served basis. Keep an eye on Facebook/Instagram for further details.
