U18 A Football Final RESULT
St Colmcille's 6-7
Glenville 2-1

A calamity of a start which saw us conceed 3 goals in the opening 3 minutes would have rocked any team. We showed great heart and spirit to keep composed and slowly eased our way into the game. By the second water break we had the gap down to 2 points when then we missed a penalty. With 3 minutes to go we trailed by a point in what was an entailing encounter. In an effort to grab a late winner we were hit in the break with a suckerpunch and conceded 2 goals to give St Colmcille's the win.
Congratulations to both teams in serving up a magnificent high standard of football in front of a huge crowd. A great advertisement for Gaelic football.
Well done to St Colmcille's on the overall balance were deserving winners

**Mini Camp a great success**

What a brilliant few days we had at our Mini Camp. Peter Curtin our juvenile Chairperson and his organising team deserves great credit for the smooth running of the event. Being blessed with the weather helped and our team of committed coaches and helpers over the 2 days were excellent. Thanks to the ladies club for their help in what was a great team effort all round and everyone who helped out in anyway we sincerely thank you all.
Our players Mike, Brendan, Rob, Mike, Shane, Daire, Sean, Shane who all committed to showing up and gave great words of guidance and encouragement to all the girls and boys was inspiring and judging by the skill on show today the next generation will clearly fly the Glenville / Watergrasshill flag with distinction with many more wearing the Cork Jersey in future . Great roll models, ambassadors, and well rounded guys all of them.
Special thanks to Ryan's SuperValu Glanmire for sponsoring goodie bags to all the kids and Tim Madden for providing ice creams for everyone.
We hope everyone enjoyed it.

Intermediate Championship.

On Saturday 4th September, our Intermediate team will have their first Championship outing of the year. They will be playing Adrigole in Dunmanway at 6pm. Best of luck lads. All support greatly appreciated.

U14s v St. Nicks.

Played away to St. Nick’s on a beautiful evening last Wednesday.  We started slowly, as has become our habit, and were chasing the game for long periods of time.  With 10 minutes left the sides were level, but a late goal from St. Nick’s led to them running out winners on a 2-10 to 2-7 score-line.  The boys made more than enough chances to level-up and even win the game but a few poor decisions and a little bad luck went against us.  Overall the lads put in a really solid performance, this group of players are developing nicely, plenty to continue working on in training over the next few weeks.

Our U11’s hosted Carrignavar on Saturday. Two teams played 2 matches with some fine flowing football and great scoring on display.

Our Under 10s held a football blitz at the weekend. We hosted whitechurch, Whites Cross, Mayfield and Erins Own. We fielded 3 teams and had some very good performances.
U9s.  Our U9'S were in Na Piarsiagh for a football blitz. We had 2 teams playing 3 matches each. Some good football on display. Well done to all the lads.
U6s.  Our U6 footballers hosted Carrignavar in Watergrasshill on Saturday. 4 teams played 3 matches each. First football match for most of these players..  The future is bright.

Master's Football Championship.

On Saturday 4th September at 2.30pm Cork will play Dublin in Glenville. This is Cork's first year in the competition and have drawn the toughest possible opponent. Dublin will have a sprinkling of former senior stars in their ranks. Dublin won the competition in 2018 and reached the final in 2019 the last time it was played.  This will be a great opportunity to see them up close, playing in our own pitch and also to support Cork. Admission is free and all are welcome.

We have launched our new Online Club Shop.
