ALL IRELAND CHAMPIONS.

Great excitement in the community last Saturday when Cork Minor Hurlers beat Galway in the All Ireland Minor Hurling Final and our own Jack Leahy was number fourteen.
Jack now has a winners medal and he’s deserved it not just for his performances this year but for the last number of years where all his work and talent have shone through.
Jack scored seven points in the final and his hard work made room for the other forwards with Cork ending up with 1-23 on the board.  A great display from all the Cork team and we must not forget Ben Nyhan and Paudie O Sullivan who also have strong Dungourney connections with the Casey and Moore family's.

So great to see another Celtic cross coming to Dungourney the last being in 1995 when Alan Kelleher was corner back on the Cork Minor hurling winning side.
Final score Cork 1-23 Galway 0-12

ALL IRELAND U20 HURLING FINAL

The Cork U 20s had a great win as well last week so the future looks bright for the county.

ALL IRELAND SENIOR HURLING FINAL

We travelled to Croke Park last week with great hopes but an awesome Limerick team were much too good for us on the day.
Everything went right for Limerick but as the old adage goes the harder you train the luckier you get and the Treaty were head and shoulders ahead in this match.
Cork have improved immeasurably this year though and please God Liam McCarthy will be returning to Leeside again soon.

RESULT
East Cork Junior B Hurling League

Russell Rovers 2-16 Dungourney 1-09

Our Junior B Hurlers went to Shanagarry on Tuesday evening to take on the local side and although they came away with a defeat they showed enough in the second half that with a bit more work before the Championship  they could surprise a few people.
Rovers were the better side in the first half and a rusty Dungourney performance didn't help .....the home side leading at half time 1-12 to 0-04.
We played a lot better in the second half but were beaten 2-16 to 1-09.

INTERMEDIATE HURLING

The Intermediate hurlers travelled to Mayfield last weekend where they played the city club in a challenge match, though shorn of some regulars Dungourney drew the match.
