REMINDER

Just a quick reminder as per GAA/Camogie/LGFA Covid Guidelines, NSHC (attached) & Government Regulations, all spectators and officials who are not involved directly with a match in Páirc Uí Chinnéide are strongly advised to wear a face mask/covering while on the grounds. This is for your health and safety and the health and safety of those around you. The more efficient we are wearing masks for the summer, the more people who will be allowed to attend events including GAA matches over the coming weeks & months.

SARS TWO GOALS CRUCIAL ON THE NIGHT

Rebel Óg Coiste Fé 13 Group 1 Hurling League

Killeagh 0-11 Sarsfields 2-8

Killeagh welcomed Sarsfields to Páirc Uí Chinnéide on Friday 9th July for Group 1 Hurling League. Sars were last year’s Under 12 County champions, so we faced a formidable challenge.

Sars started stronger and led 0-4 to 0-1 at the first water break. But, the lads settled into the game in the second quarter before the Riverstown based side struck for two goals to leave us trailing 2-6 to 0-4 at halftime.

The second half saw a fantastic response from the home team. They showed admirable grit and determination to outscore the opposition 0-7 to 0-2 in the second half. Sars were hanging on at the end but try as we might we couldn’t engineer the goal we needed to draw the game.

The management were delighted with the work rate and spirit shown by all 17 players on the night.

Next up is Kiltha Óg at home in Group 2 Football, on Friday 16th July at 8pm.

Team: Seán O’Leary; Patrick Dineen, Rian O’Connor, Alex Fogarty; Callum Power, Cormac Deane (0-2f), Cathal Brennan; Andrew Brenner (0-1), Ryan Murphy; Billy Guerin (0-2), Ruben O’Riordan, Alex Howey; Seanan McDonnell, Ben Geary (0-4, 0-2f), John Farquhar (0-2). Subs: Rian Lane, Adam Barry
