On Tue 11th Nov Aghada and Erin’s Own clashed in the Michael Feeney M B L final under lights in Rostellan Aghada remain unbeaten this year despite Erin’s Own putting up to the home side. Aghada opened the better and were 2-3 to 2 points to the good after playing with a strong wind at the brake. On resumption Erin’s Own hit 4 points with out reply as Aghada had to soak up the pressure. Slowly Aghada hit back with goals from sub John O’Brien lifted the siege with Aghada adding the Dan Casey cup to the County and East Cork titles already won
The C u21 Football 12 a side final was also played last Tue in Ballynoe when the village had a famous victory over the home side. Ballinacurra made up for losing last weeks J3 league final to Saint Catherine’s. Kevin O’Brien was the star for the village final scores Ballinacurra 2-9 St. Cats 1-6. This was the Village’s 1st u21 title.

Erin’s Own host Croke Rv in the county minor A hurling league Q final this morning at 11-30 in Caherlag
Our last Championship final of the year takes place today in Glenville at 2-30 when old rivals Carrignavar and Bride Rv lock horns again for the 3rd time in as many weeks in the final of the Michael O’Connor motor factors B grade football final. Carrignavar have the chance to bounce back after their Junior A final lost to Cloyne their path to the final was as follows a big win over Lisgoold’s 2nd string in round one 3-10 to 0-2. Carrig accounted for Midleton in a rip roaring game 3-4 to 1-7. In the semi they had a big win over a weakened Glanmire side 1-11 to 2 points. The Rv will be hoping for better luck as the have lose out in the semi of the junior championship after a replay to Carrignavar. They also lost both u21 finals so they will want this one. On their way to the final they got a walk over form Cloyne in r1. Then in a mighty game against neighbours Glenville when they got the goal at the death to win by 2-6 to 0-10 it was more of the same in the semi when Glenbower Rv and themselves drew then in extra time they got the vital goal to see them through in the end by 1-7 to 7 points. Lisgoold’s Ger O’Connell is in charge today. This should be a mighty game between to good sides and a hard one to call by the Rvs should be favs but only just.
We have one more game to complete our program for 2008 and that again has Bride Rvs in another final this time in the Star homes J H L div 2 final against Midleton (2). in the corresponding league game the Rvs won by 1-16 to 2-11 both teams ended up with 14 points from a possible 16 which makes for a tight game. We have no date yet as the rovers have a Minor C 12 a side Hurling County Championship final play against St.Fachtnas next weekend
