Erins Own 1-7 Midleton 0-4

Erins Own recorded their second win of the League campaign with an impressive 6 point win over Midleton in Caherlag today. Playing with a slight wind advantage Erins Own opened the scoring with an Ian Quinlan point in the third minute but this was cancelled out by a similar score soon after. Erins Own were the better team in this half but squandered good scoring opportunities and with Midleton converting their chances they led at half time on a scoreline of 0-3 to 0-1.

On the restart Midleton again set the pace and stretched their lead with a point after forty minutes. This turned out to be their last score and once Ian Quinlan scored his second point Erins Own took control for the remainder of the game. Erin Own substitutions throughout the second half helped to improve the quality of the play and we were able to put scores on the board. Patrick Walsh scored three terrific points from frees as well as points from Kieran Murphy and Paul Fenton. The score of the game was in the final phase of play when Paul Fenton dispossessed the Midleton keeper to score a great goal and seal the game in Erins Own favour.
