Playing Action The playing fields are beginning to gather bodies as the weeks progress and now this week see the juveniles take to actions with training every wednesday night in Fouhy Park. Intermediates continue to train every tues and thurs an 7.30 with the games beginning in earnest this weekend. The draws for the various championships were drawn last week, glenville got neighbours Carrignavar in the junior B and in the U21 Cobh provide the opposition, Minor draw will take place at next meeting. U15 football team will be first into championship action with an away trip to Russell Rovers on sat week feb 13th
Tom Creedon Cup Glenville with a depleted squad travelled west to play Balingeary in the first round of this competition,After a bad start thing picked up and we trailed 1-3 to 0-4 at half time. The scoring dried up somewhat in the second half and in the end Ballingeary went through by a four point margin 1-6 to 0-5.
Glenville U21 Invitational cup St Vincents and Clyda got this competition underway last weekend and Vincents nudged out the north cork men after extra time on a scorline 1-13 TO 0-15.
On saturday Donoughmore had a 2-10 to 1-6 victory over Glanworth.Glenville played Passage on monday night in fouhy park under lights and after being down a point,Passage proved stronger in the second half and Glenville eventhough has the majority of the play couldnt convert scores at the same rate as Passage,In the end Passage ran out three point winners after a lively game 0-13 to 1-7.
