East Cork U21 Hurling Championship 
Dungourney 0-11 Cobh 2-15
Dungourney played Cobh in the first round of the round robin U 21 Hurling Championship in Ballinacurra on Saturday night last.
Dungourneys young team started well and traded points with Cobh in the early stages but Cobh finished the half stronger and were good value for their 1-07 to 0-06 half time lead.
Cobh had the strong breeze behind them in the second half and went on to score another goal and eight points to Dungourneys five points to cement their victory.
Dungourneys next opponents in the round robin will be our neighbors Castlemartyr.

Imokilly 0-34 Midleton 4-16
Imokilly survived a late Midleton fightback to record victory in the Cork County Senior Hurling Championship,Shane Hegarty played well at number five for Imokilly and Niall Motherway is also on the panel.

East Cork Final 
The East Cork junior A Hurling final takes place in Lisgoold on Sunday evening next at six pm ,Carrig na bhFear take on Russell Rovers in what should be a very exciting match.
It’s a special day too for Dungourney’s own Jim Hennessy who will be referring his very first East Cork junior A Hurling final a momentous day indeed for the popular official.
I spoke to Jim at the weekend and I know that he is delighted to be in charge of such a prestigious match ,everybody in the club would like to wish him and his officials the best of luck on the day.
It’s a long time since a Dungourney referee was in charge of the “Mini All Ireland”,
1977 in fact ,when Dan Kenneally officiated in the final in Midleton.

Cork u15 Cup win ,
Jack Leahy from Ballinona North played a big part in the Cork hurling U15s  cup win over Galway on Saturday the Rebels defeated the Tribesmen on a score line of 0-23 to 3-11.
