Junior Football Qtr Final
Glenbower Rovers 2-12 Dungourney 0-08
Our football Championship run came to an end in Youghal on Sunday night last when we came up against a well drilled Glenbower Rovers side who defeated us by 10 points,a bitter end then but it was positive to see us getting this far in the competition and bodes well for the future.
Glenbower were strong from the start and knocked the wind out of our sales with an early goal in the tenth minute which left us chasing we did come back briefly but another green flag gave Glenbower a cushion and we were always playing catch up after that.the half time score was 2-04 to four points to the Glenbower lads at the short whistle.
Dungourney came out fighting in the second half but could not get close enough to rattle the Glenbower lads and though we got close to a goal through Mike Leahy,Shane Hegarty and Sean Hegarty the Glenbower defense held firm.
Defeat then but Glenbower are a good side and it will take a good team to stop them best of luck to them in the semi finals.
Well done to the lads on a great championship but it was not to be this year.
