With the Ironman arriving to Youghal and the surrounding area on Sunday 23rd of June, there are various knock on effect throughout the week in the lead up to that Sunday. Firstly, our Junior ‘A’ championship game against Russell Rovers will be played on either that Thursday or Friday night.

Secondly, we are looking for 40 stewards to give a helping hand on the roads. Your help involves directing 2,000 bikes along the route from Murleys Cross down to Mount Uniacke, take a left for Inch and turn right at Inch Church heading for the Quarry Road going back to Youghal. You will be required to work in two groups of 20 where there are two sets of four hour shifts 8:30am-12:30pm & 12:30pm-4:30pm. Please note that the roads that will be affected on this day will be closed to ALL TRAFFIC so be aware of this prior to the event taking place. If interested, please contact Colman Motherway to put your name forward for this event. There is a small goody bag for everyone who takes part in the day as a volunteer.

The U14's had another long week of games and training with club & schools. Colm Leahy & Dylan McCarthy won the Cork Colleges ‘A’ final on Monday with Midleton CBS. Pierce Geary, Liam Considine, Diarmuid Buckley, Jack O'Connor and Sean Meade were involved with Pobalscoil na Trionoide in both Hurling & Football finals on Thursday and Friday. They won the County Hurling but unfortunately coming up short in Football versus Midleton CBS.

The U14s also had a hurling league game on Friday night against St Colmans winning the game 6-20 to 3-7. It was a great team effort with some mighty hurling throughout the game. The lads gave a great display & still have room for improvement which is good. We picked up a few injuries but hopefully they will be okay for the Feile competition on the 7th of June. We are out again Thursday night in Killeagh at 7.15pm in a hurling league game. Well done lads keep up the great work.

We also had the official launch of the 2019 Feilé na nGael on Monday 20th in Nemo Rangers Club and Liam Considine represented our team well.

As we are hosts for this year’s Feilé and that we are travelling to Connacht for Feilé na Peil, we are running a fundraising Table Quiz on Friday night, May 31st in Long’s Bar, Mount Uniacke starting at 9pm to fund our Feile journey. So if you can, please come out and support us.

It was a great week for the U13 Squad under the management of Conor Murphy and Richard Lynch.

On Tuesday May 21st, the U13s took on Crosshaven at home. The home side were the first to put a score on the board and followed on with a succession of scores. Great team work and passing across the field saw us with a steady lead at half time.

Killeagh/Itas remained dominant in the second half with some fine scoring. This great bunch of lads played their hearts out till the very end with a very impressive finishing score. Final Score Killeagh/Itas 13-8 Crosshaven 3-8

On Thursday Night the lads took on the Erins Own squad in another home game. Great scoring from the very start saw the home side dominant from the word go.

Fabulous scoring and great team work was seen from a squad who had played various school games during the day. Again, this driven team worked hard throughout the game to finish with another impressive result. Final Score Killeagh/Itas 8-12 Erins Own 1-3

U12s Another busy week for the U12s started last Wednesday with a trip to Castlelyons for a challenge match. With the help of a strong second-half performance we pulled through in a high scoring encounter where all girls saw lots of game time. After a late cancellation on Saturday our third league game took place on Wednesday 22nd against St. Vincents in Killeagh. Lessons learned from the first two outings definitely helped in edging another tight physical battle against a much bigger team. The final score of 3-3 to 2-2 was well deserved for the Killeagh girls who were all outstanding on the night. Next up is an U11 challenge match Saturday morning v Fr.O' Neills and then U12 League match v Mallow to come.

U10s Our u10s played Aghada on Wednesday evening last in Killeagh. They participated in two really exciting games and everyone put in a huge effort, a credit to their club. Great fun was had by all.

ROD STEWART Thanks to our fantastic committee members Ger, Isabel, Carmel Claire and Yvette who gave up their time to act as stewards at the concert on /Saturday night. The money paid for their time went straight to our club.

U13 IMOKILLY Congrats to Emily Brenner who lined out with the Imokilly U13s on Sunday last.

CORK SENIORS Well done to Laura, Hannah, Chloe and Stephaine who won the Munster Final beating Tipperary in Cashel on Saturday last. Final Score was 3.17 to 2.10.
