LONG PUCK '10 IS A RESOUNDING SUCCESS With the adult hurlers and footballers gaining momentum in training for the playing season ahead , and the Uunder Age Coaches plannuing the resumption of training at many age groups , the rescheduled Long Puck took place on Sunday last . Originally fixed for the traditional Stephens' Day slot , when , of course , the weather took a nasty turn and spoiled our plans , the rescheduled event was very well attended on a brisk and dry Sunday afternoon . Almost fifty teams made their way from Leamlara Cross to the GAA pitch , with many of the teams returning "personal best" scores for the very popular event . Some , of course , take it more seriously than others , but the beauty of this event is that is transcends all groups , including the competitive , the social walkers and those who are out to enjoy a brisk walk in the company of neighbours and friends . It was great to see the huge numbers of smallies taking part in the event , very many of them for the first time , and , watching the impressive stick work of the likes of Isaac Walsh , Diarmuid Ward , James O'Driscoll and Diarmuid Healy and many many others , it's obvious that the coaching is paying off , and the future in the Club is in good hands. Overall winners were Gerry O'Connell (snr) , Maurice O'Connell and John Cashman , whilst the "family" winners were the Duggan clan from Chapel Hill. Of course , the real winners were the progressivwe Juvenile Club , whose growing numbers will benefit from the monies raised at the weekend . LOTTO

We had no winner of the Club Lotto over the past few weeks , where the numbers drawn were ( 12 Jan ) Numbers 21,28 and 30 , and on ( 19 Jan ) Numbers 12,16 and 29.

Consolation Prize winners , of €15 each were; Kay Dolan, Yan Toth, Kathleen O Connell, Theresa Heffernan , Pat Tattan, Kieran Shea, Marie O Driscoll and Eilish Coleman. The next draw will take place on 26 Jan '10 in Woods' Bar where the Jackpot will be a whopping €2,300
