LONG PUCK

The re-fixed Long Puck , cancelled due to adverse weather conditions over the icy Christmas period , will now take place on Sunday next , 24th , starting at Leamlara Cross at 2.00 pm. Not only is this a great opportunity to get a bit of exercise , and to enjoy a social walk in the company of friends and neighbours , it's a crucial part of the Juvenile Club Fund raising also , so please take the opportunity to take part on Sunday .

CLUB LEISURE AND PLAYING GEAR

The 2010 season of specially designed Lisgoold GAA Club leisure wear , tracksuits , t-shirts and other playing material is now available . Proudly displaying the Club crest , and specially designed in a hard wearing material , the new season range is available to view and / or purchase at a specially attractive price through Club Equipment Officer Maurice Mulcahy , who can be contacted on 087 2123628. All styles are available in sizes from age 5-6 up to XXL , so , if you're looking for that "special Valentines present" or that "run-around tracksuit bottoms and hoodie" your prayers have just been answered.

CHAMPIONSHIP DRAWS

The Junior Championship draws took place at Board level recently , and the ball bearing the Lisgoold name sat proudly , and by right , in the A Championship drum alongside our neighbours again . As we awaited our fate for the coming year , our thoughts turned to what the year ahead would bring . When the balls were pulled from the drum , and the pairings were revealed , it became known that our hurlers will face the losers of the Preliminary round clash between Castlemartyr and St Itas , while our Footballers face a tie against Midleton . Hurling manager Mike Woods is looking forward to the challenge the year ahead brings , adding "whoever we play will cause us a significant challenge , one I hope we'll be ready for" whilst his Football counterpart Tim Mulcahy is "looking forward to getting the League season underway , and the opportunities that those games will bring , especially for the fringe squad members".

We wish Mike , Tim , their squads and backroom teams all the best as they prepare for 2010.
