Glenville Footballers kicked off their season with a Tom Creedon Cup 1st round gameagainst neighbours Glanmire in Buck Leary’sCross pitch.

On a beautiful crisp afternoon for football it must be said.

The first half was an even affair with six scores a piece.

Half time score Glenville 0.06

Glanmire 2.04.

Dan Dennehy was a constant treath inside and he contributed 3 points in that half, with James Gowen kicking the other three, one great effort before the half time whistle. With Dylan McCarthy, Michael Murphy, Kevin O Neill and Shane O Reillycontributingwell.

The first ten minuteswere even steven with both sides kicking 2 points apiece. Glanmire started to get on top at this stage with Glenville emptying the bench to give all some valuable game time to everyone.

Colm Fenton and Owen Desmond kicked two good points from play with James getting a free to finish the scoring.

Glanmire ran out winners on a score lineof 2.11 to 0.09.

A positive start to our year with a good positiveattitudeamongst this young team on show. Well done to the players who made their first competitive appearance in an Intermediate jersey for Glenville.
