Annual general meeting this weekend

Nomination papers should be with secretary Eleanor Galvin by now. Either way take this as the final reminder that the annual general meeting of the parent club goes ahead this weekend. It’s on in Ballynoe Community Centre on Friday night coming, November 23. Starting at 8.30pm.

This is the most important off-field activity of the year where you have an opportunity to participate in a review of the year just past and provide an input into the future of the club. Possibly getting a different audience but just to let you know that the AGM convention of the East Cork board also takes place at the same venue on Wednesday night, December 5.

It’s not due to playing activity being at an end. It’s just that Scór, the GAAs promotion of our culture through the medium of music song and dance now returns to the seasonal calendar. Now if there’s anyone out there who would like to participate in these competitions or maybe ‘question time’ is of appeal, just take note that the East Cork Scór na nÓg finals are on Saturday night, December 1 at Lisgoold Community Hall. It starts at 7.30pm. Please make cultural Irish officer Marie Clancy aware if interested in participation.

County Scór AGM is on tonight (Thursday), November 22 and after that dates for the club and then the divisional rounds of Scór ma bPáistí should become that bit clearer. Scór Sinsear is on Saturday, January 26. Now the brainchild of Fermoy’s own Derry Gowen, back in 1969 and Scór celebrates it’s fiftieth anniversary in the coming year of 2019. We should be involved.
