The Ulster Bank Co Minor Championships draw to a close on Sunday afternoon with the playing of the Co Minor “C” (12 a-side) Football Final between Adrigole and Uibh Laoire in Aughaville. Adrigole, who will probably start as favourites due to the fact that they supplied the lion’s share of players to the starting line up of the Beara side than won the Ulster Bank Co Premier 2 Minor Football Championship, will be hoping that their good fortune will continue and with players the calibre of Liam Harrington, Con O’Shea, Sean O’Shea, Kevin Goggin, Thomas Joe O’Sullivan and David Harrington in their ranks it well within their compass to complete a unique double. On the other hand Uibh Laoire backboned by Barry Murphy, Cal McCarthy, Cathal Vaughan, John McSweeney, Daniel O’Riordan and Sean O’Leary will not be found wanting and they will enter this game in a confident mood hoping to put one over on their opponents.

Tomorrow afternoon in Castlelyons Midleton take on Erins Own in the Ulster Bank Co Premier 1 Minor Hurling League Semi-Final. This game has all the ingredients of being a close encounter between two sides that will be eager to advance to the Final where the winners will meet Na Piarsaigh.

The final game pencilled in for this weekend is between Carbery Rngs and Bantry Blues in Rosscarbery on Sunday morning. This is a repeat of the championship semi-final where Bantry came out on top so on this occasion the home side will be going all out to reverse that result but Bantry will not be travelling just to make up the numbers and they will have their own agenda and in the end a lucky bounce of the ball either way could decide the issue.
