Walk No. 21: Before Ophelia, there was Glenshelane!

We're all familiar with Ex-Hurricane Ophelia by now, and the destruction it caused to our lives and landscape on Monday last. Just 24 hours earlier the Killeagh Healthy Clubs Project Walkers braved the damp, but relatively wind-free elements as they completed Monthly Walk No. 21 in picturesque Glenshelane Forest outside Cappoquin. Less than half an hour by car from Killeagh, this is surely one of the hidden treasures of Ireland's Ancient East, and well worth a visit, but perhaps not during a hurricane! Four different routes ranging in distance from 2K to 10K and in severity from easy to strenuous make this a walking venue suitable for the youngest to the oldest in any family, a fact borne out by our age range - from 2 to 70+!

Next up we head west with Walk No. 22 along the beautiful River Lee walk in Mahon and Blackrock. We meet at 10.00 a.m at the car park beside Blackrock Castle on Sunday November 19th. As always, we'd love to have new walkers of any age and ability join us.
