JUVENILE NOTES

Hurling and Football

Killeagh/Ita’s Fe15's

Killeagh/Ita’s Fe15s blitz Blarney to remain top of the league table. With a hat-trick of goals for Ciaran (O’R) and a pair from Ben, a Killeagh/Ita’s win was never in doubt. Firstly we must thank Richard Lynch for officiating at this game due to a no-show from the appointed ref. It is not an easy job so thank you Richard for taking to the whistle at such short notice and also to both teams and mentors for showing great respect to Killeagh’s newest reiteor. Killeagh/Ita’s started the brighter with two points from play by Ciaran (O’R) when Blarney responded with four points in quick succession. Ben pulled one back when Blarney went on to point a free. Blarney were ahead by 0-5 to 0-03. Ben and Ciaran (O’R) scored a point apiece to draw level and from then on the home side stamped their authority on the game. When the half time whistle went we were ahead by 3-05 to 0-6 points. Blarney had a mountain to climb in the second half however Killeagh/Ita’s were not letting them back into the game. Daniel opened the scoring in the second half with a lovely point and Ben scored his second goal before being called ashore. Ciaran (O’R) scored a further 1-2 with Ciaran (L) getting 0-2 to give us a full-time score of 5-10 to 0-10. Well done to our goalkeeper Ben and the defence who didn’t allow Blarney to raise any green flag. Maximum league points from this game keeps our place on the top of the league table secure. We have one match left to play which is against Carrigaline in Killeagh and then we will be into the league semi-final. Well done all, a great team effort and it showed on the score-board.

Team: B Budds, B Murphy, J Fogarty, P Landers, D Coleman, G Walsh/Wallace, R Treacy, D Collins, B O Connor (2-2), C O’Rourke (3-5), C Coughaln, D Doherty (0-1), R Bernard, C Leahy (0-2), P Kent, R Farquahar, T McCarthy, R Lynch, E Lane and C Treacy.
