Good Luck LiamO in the All-Ireland Final!

We wish Liam, and his Cork team mates and management the very best of luck in the All-Ireland Minor hurling final against Galway in Croke Park at 1.15pm. This Cork minor team have captured the imagination of the Cork public following wins in Munster over Waterford in the first round, over Tipperary at the second time of asking and over Clare in the final and a nervy four-point win over Dublin in their All-Ireland semi-final. Liam has been in fine scoring form contributing 1-6 in the championship so far. The Galway minors beat Clare in the Quarter Final and had just a point to spare over Kilkenny in the semi-final and will be formidable opponents.

Junior Round-Up

Our Junior hurlers get back to action this weekend playing Dromina in a top of the table clash in the Junior A Hurling League Group 2 in Newtownshandrum at 19:45. The lads will aim to set aside the disappointment of the East Cork hurling championship exit.

Juvenile Round-Up

Congratulations to our three Rebel Ōg Cork Development players who played in the Munster and All-Ireland tournaments held last Saturday. Cathal Hickey was part of the Cork team who beat Kilkenny 2-9 v 1-8 in the U16B Final after group stage wins over Waterford (3-10 V 0-6), Kilkenny (1-9 V 0-9) and Galway (0-13 v 1-9) and a semi-final win over Tipperary on penalties after the sides were tied at full time (0-13 v 0-13). Mark Hegarty was part of the Cork U15 B team who beat Kerry (1-14 v 2-4) and Limerick (1-11 v 0-9) before defeating Galway after extra time (1-19 v 1-11) to win the Cup in Clarecastle. Isaak Walsh travelled to Waterford with the Cork U14A team who lost out narrowly on qualifying for the knock out round of the Tony Forristal Cup Tournament on scoring difference. Their counterparts on the U14B team won out the Sonny Walsh Cup. On the club front, our minor hurlers will play St. Vincents in the East Region minor hurling semi-final on Wed Sep 6 in Mayfield at 6:45pm. Our U16 hurlers set aside their disappointed in the hurling championship to record a good win over Fr. O’Neills in the Challenge Cup competition on Monday night and out U14 hurlers play championship on Wed vs. St. Colmans
