Killeagh U9's

Killeagh U9's have had a busy few weeks. We have played five league games since the end of April. Firstly we travelled to Rostellan on April 21st to play Aghada in our second football league game. Both games were tight affairs with both teams having different periods of dominance within the game. Killeagh defended doggedly and worked some great team scores to ensure we were in front on the scoreboard at

the end of two highly entertaining games. Blackrock were the visitors to Killeagh on May 9th to play our third hurling league match. Killeagh hit the ground running and won both games convincingly on the night. Erins Own came to Killeagh on May 10th for our third football league match. Erins Own were a well-balanced outfit and just edged both games, despite the valiant efforts of our lads. We visited Magners Hill in Youghal for our fourth hurling league match on 17th May. Both games were highly entertaining, with committed defending and great stick work to the fore. There were many superb scores throughout for both sides. Both coaching teams were delighted with the effort of all the players. On the full time whistle Killeagh won one game and lost the other resulting in a draw overall. A strong Mitchelstown team visited Pairc Ui Chinneide on May 30th for our fourth football league match. One Killeagh team were on song from the throw in and won convincingly on the night. The second Killeagh side staged a remarkable recovery from three goals down to win by two at the end. Overall it has been a good few weeks with some great performances from all. The lads attitude and dedication to training is really good and it is showing on the field. Next up for Killeagh U9's is a visit to Glen Rovers for the hurling league on June 10th, followed by a football league match at home to Youghal on June 13th. The U9 squad is as follows: Alex Fogarty, Alex Howey, Andrew Brenner, Ben Geary, Billy Guerin, Callum Power, Cathal Brennan, Cayden Hyde, Cormac Deane, Cormac Delaney, Daniel Geary, Darragh Sheehan, Diarmuid Fitzpatrick, Eoin Sheehan, John Farquhar, Patrick Dineen, Rian Lane, Rian O'Connor, Ryan Murphy, Seanan McDonnell, Tom Power.

Golf Society:

KILLEAGH GAA 21st ANNUAL GOLF CLASSIC 2017

The Killeagh GAA Golf Classic comes of age this year, with our 21st Annual Golf Classic. Our 2016 Classic was another great success thanks to all those who contributed so generously, both golfers and sponsors, and we were blessed with good weather also! The funds raised are absolutely essential to keep our club’s finances in good health, and to finance the loans we have incurred in developing our excellent facilities in Páirc Uí Chinnéide. 2017 will see further development of our facilities and continued commitment to our ongoing work with our teams and our community. This year’s Golf Classic will take place in West Waterford Golf Club on Thursday July 13th, Friday July 14th and Saturday July 15th. Please contact our Golf Classic Chairman, Ray Rochford on 0872330054 to see how you can help this year.

Society Outing:

The next society outing is to Youghal GC on Saturday June 17th with tee times from 12pm. This outing is our Captain's Prize outing which is being presented this year by Mr. Michael (Haulie) Collins.
