Launch of Red FM Senior Hurling League

The official launch of the 2017 Red FM Senior Hurling League took place in the Red FM studios in Curraheen on Monday, March 13th. All 18 clubs were present to pose for photographs and speak to Red FM about the year ahead. Carrigtwohill were represented by full back Padraic Hogan. Also present was Ger Lane, County Board Chairman and Tracey Kennedy, Vice Chair.

Carrig have already played two of this year’s fixtures, against Blackrock and Douglas, and are hoping that their first league win will come in Newcestown this Sunday. A slow start to the league is nothing new for Carrig as they lost their first four league games last year before finishing out the campaign strongly with four wins on the bounce.

Red FM spoke with a number of the players on Monday, including Padraic Hogan, and you can listen to his interview and view the official photos at www.carrigtwohillgaa.com.

Boy’s National School 60 Year Celebration

On Wednesday, March 29th the boy's national school in Carrigtwohill will be celebrating 60 years and have extended an open invitation to all past pupils to attend the celebration. The commemoration begins at 10.30am on the site of the old school which will proceed to prayers in the Church at 10.45am and will continue in the school until 1.30pm. The boy's school has long been a vital source of talented hurlers and footballers for Carrigtwohill GAA and we look forward to celebrating its continued excellence in the classroom and on the field.
