Junior Round Up

Junior A County Hurling League Group 2 Lisgoold 1-17 v 1-10 Milstreet

Lisgoold will play in Group 2 of the county hurling league along with Dromina, Liscarroll/Churchtown Gaels, Nemo Rangers, Tracton, Balinora, Kilbree and our first opponents, Milstreet. This match was played in Milstreet on 12th March and was a solid start to the hurling year. Prominent on the day were Brian Clifford at full back and John Cronin who chipped in with 6 points. Daragh Fleming poached the goal and first junior hurling outings were given to Cian Healy and Liam O’Shea.

U21 C Football Championship.

Lisgoold 0-06 v 4-09 Carraig na bhFear.

Our U21 side which was depleted by injuries to 15 players before the game, was further hampered by two early injuries. To their credit the lads battled on in difficult circumstances, but suffered a heavy defeat on the day.

Attention now turns to the football championship first round tie versus Ballinacurra. The match is fixed for Midleton at 2:30 PM, but keep an eye out on the website in case this changes.

We wish a speedy recovery to Robbie Kinnane who suffered a leg injury as the minor footballers lost out to Tracton on a scoreline of 5-5 to 1-6.
