Healthy Clubs Update

The Cork GAA Health and Wellbeing Committee are holding their Annual Forum in St. Finbarr’s GAA Club, Togher, next Saturday, November 12th from 10.00 a.m. to 1.30 p.m. As one of the four Healthy Clubs, we have been asked to give a short input into the Forum. Colman Motherway will prepare this during the week but it would be great if we could get a number of people who are actively involved in the Healthy Clubs Project to attend. We know that Saturday is a day for doing lots of other things, but if you could give up this one Saturday morning for the Forum we think it would be beneficial individually and collectively for all of us. To register, you can email Janas Harrington at – just tell her you will be representing the Killeagh Healthy Clubs Project. Alternatively, you can let Colman Motherway know if you are available to attend and he can email Janas a group list. The event is free and the line-up of speakers is impressive. There is no limit on numbers, so please let others know who you think might be interested. Colman Motherway will get a Killeagh GAA club text out during the week about it and if the Inch Rovers and Camogie personnel could do likewise it would be great.

Secondly, we will have Hill Walk No. 5 on Sunday November 13th. Taking feedback from our walkers, we are keeping it local this time! Jim O’Mahony, our walking leader, will take us on a walk around Glenbower Wood highlighting the hidden trails and hidden histories of our beautiful local amenity, which is looking absolutely spectacular at the moment. All you have to do is bring the right clothing and footwear, some water and food, and plenty energy! We will meet in the Old Thatch Car Park at 9.00 a.m.

If you have any other ideas for our Healthy Clubs Project, please contact Colman Motherway on 0857540973.
