Under 10 Brian Kelleher Tournament

Our U9s and U10s travelled to Mourneaby on Fri. Oct 21 to take part in the Brian Kelleher Tournament at Clyda Rovers. Outstanding performances by both the U9 and U10 teams saw the U9s get to their final which resulted in a draw. Extra time was played and the U9s were unlucky to lose out to Grenagh. The U10s played two games to earn a place in their final. Their final also ended in a draw and extra time saw Glenville win by a point. Well done to both teams, thanks to the parents who attended and to the coaches on the evening Eamon Counihan (U9) and Richie Cahill (U10

Under 14 Padraigh Kelleher Memorial Cup Semi Final.

Our under 14 Team played Grenagh in the semi Final of the Padraigh Kelleher Cup last Monday night October 24th. It was a good display by our lads who kept going right to the very end but Grenagh were the stronger of the two and came away with a comfortable win. This Now Means that Grenagh will face Kilshannig in the final which could take place this weekend in Glenville but nothing has been confirmed yet.

Best of luck to Glenville National School Boys and their Trainers/ Mentors this Wednesday in the Sciath Na Scoil Football Final v Fir mount in Paric Ui Rinn at 12.30

Friday November 4th 2016

Well the days are getting shorted as the curtain begins to close as another season is finally coming to an end.

Glenville Ns Win Sciath Na Scoil

Glenville 1-15 Firmount 2-4

Roinn DF5

An outstanding Glenville team, spearheaded by Eanna Fitzgerald and Captain Calum O’Mahony, proved too hot for Firmount at Paric Ui Rinn in the Final of Allianz Sciath Na Scoil Roinn DF5 Decider.

Any early nerves for Glenville were settled by quick points from O’Mahony and Ross-Hennessy before Darragh Buckley of Firmount drove his long range shot into the net for a stunning Goal.

He tagged a point onto his tally shortly afterwards, as the Muskerry outfit began to take over possession with Luke Kendellan and Cian Buckley also impressing.

Glenville restored order however via points from the ever present Eanna Fitzgerald and Liam Foley, before Kendellan shrunk Glenville’s lead with a well taken goal.

Glenville maintained their poise as O’Mahony, Fitzgerald and Foley helped to push the lead to 11 points before the Captain put the game to bed with a well-deserved Goal and that was enough for Glenville to take the honors for 2016.

Well Done to Kilshannig who defeated Grenagh in the Final of the Padraigh Kelleher Cup.
