U16 Football Final

This is the last game of the 2016 season. Congratulation to Aghada U16 Football Team and Mentors on reaching the County League final V Granard Gaels on 31st of October in Kilworth. On their journey to the final, Aghada had great wins over Passage, Aghinagh and Castlehaven. The Aghada team did not find their usual form in games first half but with the never give up attitude of the players they gave a brilliant display of football for remaining play. Alas when final whistle sounded, Aghada lost out by a single point on a score-line of Granard Gaels 2-10 to Aghada 1-12.

Aghada N.S. Sciath

What a brilliant occasion for the students from Aghada N.S. to reach the Sciath na Scol Football Final V Ballygarvan in Pairc Ui Rinn on Tuesday 25th. Buses of Young Decorated Supporters/Staff headed off early from Aghada N.S. to cheer on their team. From that special individual wave from EACH member of the squad to the chorus of SONG/CHEERS from the Young and the NOT so young supporters from the stands is an “Essay Memory” for class project in the years ahead. After an exciting game of skill, teamwork and some brilliant scores, Aghada N.S. team were unlucky not to be on the winning side at the final whistle. However, each player received an individual runner-up medal and trophy for school, which is one of those special sporting moments in a child’s life.
