U14 Padraig Kelleher Cup (Quarter-final) Glenville 3-07 Carrig na bhfear 3-06. This was a game with a thrilling end for the Glenville U14s and booked our place in the semi-final. Half-time saw us behind to Carrig 3-04 to 1-04 but a determined Glenville fight back and a brace of goals by Daire O'Sullivan (the second one with four minutes to go) saw the lead change hands from two points behind to a single point win. V Russell Rovers

Last Sunday Moring our Junior B Footballers faced Russell Rovers in this year’s league final. Our lads were looking to complete the four in a row as won this title for the last three years played in an overcast Killeagh venue both teams contributed to a very good game of football and by the half time interval it was 1-6 to 0-4 to the opposition. Our lads made a comeback in the second half but the furthest we ever got to the rovers was two points in the end it was a eight point defeat 2-11 to 0-9. Rebel OG Central Premier 2 under 15 Football Championship v Cobh

It might be the third week of October but the wait was finally over for our under 15 Team as we faced Cobh in the first round of the Championship. It’s ever player’s dreams to reach a county final at some stage in their career and it has to start somewhere. So here we were the scene was set on a lovely night football the meeting between Glenville and Cobh Got underway with both teams going out full attack with the home team registering the first two points. We opened our account thanks to a Shane O’Reilly free in ever championship game it is vital that you win the majority of the kick out and our Midfielder Rob Mc Kenna certainly did that with the aid of his partner Darrie O’Sullivan helped Glenville to a few more scores.

We were very strong in defense with Caden Horgan winning most of the lost ball and by keeping his man at bay through the first half. Cobh were always dangerous going forward but each time opted to go for the point as they found it hard to break past our defense and by the half time interval it was still all to play for 0-6 to 0-4 in favor of Cobh. We started off the shaper of the two and despite his tender age Mark O’Donoghue was first onto a loose ball and without hesitation put it straight between the posts but each time we got a score Cobh hit back to make the score 0-7 to 0-5.

We then hit our purple patch and scores from Shane O’Reilly and Timmy Hegarty put us on level terms. Glenville were coastally kept on their feet and Goalie Cathal Fitz was called in to action on numerous of occasions and each time he pulled off top class saves and with the aid of the defenders of John O’Driscoll and Ciarn O’Leary moved defense from attack in the blink of an eye.

We always knew that Cobh would have their period of dominance and they got that period in the last ten minutes as they came forward in waves of attacks as hit over score after score to leave the scores at 0-13 points to 0-7. Hegarty hit over his second point to reduce the deficit to five but Cobh finally got their goal a low shot

into the corner of the net. We finished the game with a Gary Doyle point and that was that our season had finally come to an end but all can hold their heads held high on what was a magnificent game of football a real team fighting effort. Panel on the night was Cathal Fitzgerald, John O’ Driscoll, Ciaran O’Leary, Dylan Power, Jack Ryall, Caden Horgan, Shane O’Reilly (Captain) Rob Mc Kenna, Darrie O’Sullivan, Mark O’Donoghue, Timmy Hegarty, Cael Guichard, Garry Doyle, Gavin Gowen and Conor Gowen.
