Aghada Juvenile GAA Report

U8 Football Blitz

Aghada Juvenile GAA Club hosted an U8 football blitz in Rostellan GAA Grounds on Saturday 17th. Thirteen teams enjoyed some very close games with great skill and determination displayed by ALL players. Thanks to Mentors/Parents who helped with car park and catering duties.

The U10 hurling squad travelled to Sarsfield GAA Grounds for a club tournament. A total of thirty four players from Aghada wore their Green/White Jersey with great pride and enjoyed each game. Each player was delighted to receive a medal for their gallant performance.

Our U13 Football Team lost the U13A League final on Saturday to a very strong Whitechurch team. Final score Whitechurch 4-15 Aghada 3-10.The Aghada players were well kitted out with new Sports Top for the occasion. Thanks to Coaches who kindly donated same.

U13C Hurling League Final Aghada 3-07 – Whitescross 2-02.

Well done to everyone involved with the Aghada Intermediate Hurling Team, who had a very impressive win over Meelin on Saturday. Great to see such great support for game. From Mourne Abbey a large group of Aghada supporters travelled to Mayfield to witness a truly brilliant U16A Ladies Football County Final, where Kinsale and Aghada will have to meet again as this game ended in a draw. Well done to ALL players and Mentors.


Aghada GAA Club can boast of having three Club Players involved with Cork Senior Ladies football team next Sunday in Croke Park. We would like to encourage Men, Women, Boys and Girls to make a special effort to travel to Dublin next Sunday September 25th on the Aghada Supporters Bus. Depart Rostellan GAA Grounds 9.15am – Return 10.30pm Approx.

Adults €35/Minors€25 includes –Bus – Match Tickets- and Meal on return journey.

Relay For Life

Thanks to everyone that supported The Relay For Life event in Midleton CBS on Saturday 17th/18th of September. Aghada Juvenile GAA Club registered a team, asked Members/Friends to put name forward for 24 hour walk (1 hour slot each) and to purchase a candle of hope. All funds raised will go directly to Irish Cancer Society. A special word of thanks to Aghada Juvenile Secretary Reece Bawden who coordinated the club roster and worked closely with event organisers to support this very worthy cause.
