Thursday August 25th 2016

It’s getting to that time of year again where the days are getting shorter and yet there is still a good amount of fixtures yet to be decided as it’s important that we get these fixtures into the GAA Calendar.

Juvenile Round up

Under 16

After a much well deserved break our under 16 Team were back in action last week in a league match against Bishopstown having won 5 out of 5 league games a win here would put us into a league semi-final. The lads faced a stiff breeze in the first half as we worked as hard as we can to restrict Bishopstown score down to a minimum but not having played a game in a few weeks cost us as we were a bit rusty at times and a few handling errors cost us at times and by the short while Bishopstown held a 2-4 to 0-7 point lead. On the other hand keeper Niall O’Sullivan pulled off numerous saves to deny Bishopstown from increasing their lead. On resumption our lads came out with fighting spirit on them as week took the game to Bishopstown putting over some delightful scores. But however this brave effort by our lads was enough as we came up short as Bishopstown ran out winners on a score line of 1-10 to 3-9.

Under 12

Our under 12 Football team played Glanmire last week in a challenge game in which was played a good sporting manner with Glanmire been the victorious on a score line of 5-10 to 3-6.

Lotto Results

There was no winner from last week’s lotto draw. Winning numbers on the night were 9, 10, 18 and 31. Small Cash Prize winners were Josephine Loftus, Denis Buttimer JNR, Liam/ Maurice/ Keane and Margaret Maloney. Next week’s draw will take place in Kades.
