Aghada GAA Clubs Unite

Once again we can be very proud of our Aghada GAA Clubs and our fantastic facilities in Rostellan, as songs of praise were echoed by ALL who competed and supported the East Cork Harbour Marathon on Saturday August 20th. The previous day, the organisers of this first time venture had to battle with high winds and serious down pours to put the finishing touches in place. Kit bags and food packs were put together with the hard working catering volunteers from the community. Road parking, field signs and barriers were been erected across the highways of East Ferry to Guileen. Very early as the dawn arrived, the busy crew of volunteers were out and about ensuring that The East Cork Harbour Marathon course and final book keeping/registration forms were ready to host the three adult races of a FULL – HALF and 10K Marathon.

Many congratulations to Brendan Crowley and his many volunteers from the local and wider community who committed for different tasks, which helped to promote and stage this fantastic community event.

All proceeds raised will go to worthy local community initiatives and to the event charity partner Marymount Hospice.

Aghada GAA Clubs Unite to help Brendan Crowley( Race Director) and everyone involved on the committee and volunteers in the East Cork Harbour Marathon which was held on Saturday August 20th. The final section of ALL three routes navigated along Cork Harbour and finished in Aghada GAA Grounds. Young BOYS/GIRLS welcomed home each runner with "Be Seen Wear The Green Flag Display"
