Glenville GAA CLub Notes

14 July, 2016

High Stakes This weekend

The stakes couldn’t be any higher this weekend as for the first time since 1998 Glenville and Mitchelstown will meet in Fermoy for a place in the quarter final of the intermediate Football Championship v the winners of Mayfield or Kildorrery who also play the same day in Castelyons with our match taking place at 2:00 in the north side of cork. Expect fireworks expect drama and expect a cracker of a match both teams are very filmily with each other with both teams having meet in the league a back in may where we recorded a 1-8 to 1-14 victory.

There is no room for error and that past matches are a distant memory we come into Sundays games in great form having overcame a dogged Youghal side in the previous round and we have also won our last four league games. So get behind our lads and support them on this Sunday best of luck lads.

Junior Football Sweeny cup v Whitescross

Last Tuesday afternoon we played Whitescross in the first round of the Sweeney cup. Both teams played out a very nip and tuck first half with Whitescross hold a 0-5 to 0-3 half time interval lead. There were some great passages of play but in the end Whitescross came away three point winners.

Lotto Results

There was no winner of the lotto jackpot. Winning numbers drawn were 10, 12, 13 and 23. Small Cash prize winners were John/Margaret O’Keeffe, Ger Murphy, Pat Buckley and Aine Kennedy. Next week’s draw will take place in Kades.
