The Kube;

Our most recent fundraising event was held on Saturday night last with the staging of “The Kube” in the Radisson Blu Hotel Little Island in conjunction with the Cloyne Community Council.

32 contestants took part striving to beat the Kube to win the €1000 first prize.

First into the Kube was club stalwart Ray Cusack to get the ball rolling and he set a very high standard. Each contestant took part in 2 games in each of the 6 heats, from these heats 12 people qualified for the semi-finals with Noelle Murphy, Stephen Beausang, Eoin O’Brien and Fintan Murray qualifying for the final. Congratulations to Eoin who was crowned champion after a well-contested and very enjoyable final game.

Our thanks to everyone who bought tickets,were present on the night and sponsored ads in what was a very enjoyable night’s entertainment. Our thanks to the fundraising events group who ran a very professional and polished night.

The club are grateful to the sub committee responsible for putting everything together under the Chairmanship of John Coleman.

U21 Hurling;

Well done to the St Colman’s U21 hurlers who overcame the strong challenge of Carrigtohill in round 1 of this years championship.St Colman’s played against the wind in the first half but were only 3 points down at the break. A Josh Beausang goal from a penalty which brought the game level proved to be the catalyst for the win as the team pushed on well after this score to register a 3.16 to 1.13 win.

The team are now in the semi-final of the competition with early August the probable date for the game.
