A beautiful evening saw our Boys play a fantastic game of football against Erins Own.  1st score of the match came from Danny Fitzgerald with a cracker of a goal followed by Callum Martin White with a point and another goal.  Ben Budds, David Buckley, Ben Fogarty, Callum Martin White, Daniel Walsh and Rory Motherway were very busy chasing up and down the field while Darragh O'Leary, Tommy Morrison, Evan Daly, Eric Mellerick kept the Forward line busy.

Column Leahy was outstanding in goals saving nearly every ball that came his way.  He was closely guarded by Ciaran Brennan, Conor Meade and Danny Fitzgerald.  Liam Considine and Diarmuid Buckley swapped in and out throughout the game.

More scores to follow came from David Buckley, Darragh O'Leary and Evan Daly 1 goal each and finishing up the game with another 2 points from Callum Martin White and 1 from Eric Mellerick (our new man on board). The final score was Killeagh 5-4 Erins Own 1-4.

Killeagh-Ita’s Cruise past Carrigaline for County Final Clash with Kiltha Óg

Killeagh-Ita’s 7-12 – Carrigaline 2-05 Monday 30th May saw our U14’s take to the pitch in Passage West to take on Carrigaline. It was a beautiful evening for supporters to watch a game but the heat of the evening sun had our water boys working over-time to keep the lads hydrated.  Past encounters indicated that this would be a tough hard fought game and spectators were not disappointed. Killeagh-Ita’s were first out of the blocks with a lovely point from Ben, Carrigaline replied almost immediately with a goal. Our boys remained calm and stuck to the game plan and were rewarded by 6 well taken points.  A quickly taken free by Ben to Christian resulted in our 2nd point, followed by 4 from Ben and one from Ciaran O O’Rourke.  Our boys were working hard and the results were showing on the scoreboard.  We were awarded another free in front of goal, should Ben go under or over the cross bar...no indecision from our free taker though and as he raised the sliotar onto his hurley, there was only one place it was going to end up. Killeagh-Ita’s were ahead on a score line of 1-07 to 1-00.  Carrigaline however were continually on the attack which resulted in a point from a free and a goal from play. As the half time whistle approached, Carrigaline slotted one point over while Ben and Ciaran Leahy pointed for us. The score at half time read 1-09 to 2-02 as both teams took a much deserved break.

The second half resumed with Killeagh-Ita’s opening the scoring with a wonderful goal from Ciaran Leahy, rapidly followed by a point. Even though Carrigaline were attacking hard they only managed to score 3 points in the second half, however Killeagh-Ita’s work rate was rewarded with several well taken scores.  Christian scored two goals in quick succession, the first from a short puck out from the Carrigaline goalie which Christian won and “returned to sender” giving him no chance of a save.  The second was taken from a very tight angle, surrounded by defenders however Christian still managed to get the shot and the score. Ben was next to raise the green flag when a shot directly at the gaolie gave him no chance of a save. Ciaran Leahy added a second gaol to his tally and before the ref blew his whistle to end this semi-final encounter Paul Kent put the ball over the goalies head and into the back of the net. This was a real panel victory with one to twenty putting in sterling work and it wasn’t until the final whistle went that we were sure of a win, Carrigaline were pressing hard but due to great defensive work from our backs and midfielders they were unable to convert this to scores.  Well done all.

Team: G Walsh, E Lane, J Fogarty, P Landers, D Collins, B Murphy, T Treacy, P Kent, C Treacy, B O Connor, C Coughlan, D Doherty, C Leahy, C O O’Rourke, R Bernard,  R Farquhar, T McCarthy, A Fitzgibbon, D Coleman, B Budds. The County Final Clash is scheduled for Wednesday 8th at 7.30 in Ballinacurra against Kiltha Óg. This is the second pairing of these teams in recent months as Killeagh-Ita’s played them in their opening league game where a late goal separated the teams giving the league points to Kiltha Óg.  Your support on the night would be much appreciated by mentors and players.

Friday June 10th 10.30 a.m. in CIT GAA Grounds – Sciath na Scol Final Inch NS v Ballintotas NS

At the end of 2015, Inch NS overcame Ballintotas NS in a cracking Sciath na Scol Football Final in Mayfield. Now, at the end of the 2015-2016 school term, both teams meet again, this time in the hurling final. If it’s half as good as the football decider, it will be a classic! Will Inch manage the double or will Ballintotas make it quits? You’ll have to be there to catch the action! Best wishes to the Inch boys, but also to our Under 11 player Darragh O’Brien who lines out with his school, Ballintotas, in opposition to his Killeagh-Ita’s team-mates.
