Juvenile Club

U12 East Football League.

Fr. O’Neills 4:05 v St Colmans 1:02.

We played St. Colmans in Cloyne on Friday week last where we came away with  a

comfortable victory. We got quickly into our stride early on with a goal and a point each from

Paudie O Sullivan and Niall Flanagan giving us a 2:02 to 0:00 lead at half time. With Jamie

O Brien and James O Brien going  well at the back and Christian Millerick outstanding at

centrefield a good supply of ball to our forwards saw another goal for Niall. In this period

Fionn Coakley notched up two points. A point from Johnny Swayne and a goal from Eoghan Rooney saw this game out. St. Colmans tried to the end and got a goal and two points for

their efforts all in all a great team performance keep up the good work lads.

U18 Premier 2A Hurling Championship.

Fr. O’Neills 4:12 v Erins Own 2:19 aet.

Killeagh was the venue for this first round tie in the Minor Premier 2a Hurling Championship.

We started this game in a lively fashion when Ger. Millerick pounced on a ball and struck it

to the Erins Own net . Points were exchanged some fine long range frees being put over by

William Abernethy. We had a lot of the play in this period but some poor wides from us

kept Erins Own in the game. A fine run from Colm Swayne set up Ger. for his second goal,

but Erins Own replied inside a minute with a goal of their own. We went in at the break with

a three point lead 2.4 to 1.4. Erins Own started the brighter in the second half with four

points we replied with a couple of points from frees and play courtesy of Eoghan

Dorgan and Ger Millerick.  A goal from sub Jason Hankard looked to be a turning point,

but Erins Own replied with two points. With two minutes remaining it looked like Colm

Swayne had sealed with a point from play but Erins Own got a late point in injury time to

bring the game to extra time. With tired legs on both sides both teams gave plenty

excitement in this twenty minute period Ger. got his third goal but Erins Own never panicked

and they replied with another couple of points. It was anyone's game now it was end to end but a late point sealed this game for  Erins Own. Ciaran Cuillinane had a fine game in goal,

Dominic Barry at corner back cleared a lot of ball especially in extra time. Adam Kenneally

and William  Abernethy hit a pile of ball  throughout. Ryan  Kenneally and Adrian Leahy

at midfield put in a great shift, Jason Murphy, Ger. Millerick and Colm Swayne the pick

of the forwards. All is not lost we now play Mallow in the back door tie in early July.

Team: C. Cuillinane, O. Steele, C. Dunne, D. Barry, C.O Connor, A. Kenneally, W. Abernethy,

R. Kenneally, A. Leahy, D. Griffin, E. Dorgan, J. Murphy, C. Swayne, C. Sloane, G. Millerick,

J. Hankard, A. Mcevoy, D. O Neill, P. Flanagan, P. Hassett, J. Millerick, B. Kenneally, O. Murphy.
