Division 1 Hurling League;

Unfortunately we are still seeking our first victory in this year’s league after defeat to Iniscarra on Saturday evening. After a disappointing opening half we trailed 1.11 to 2 points at the break but improved somewhat thereafter to lose out on a 1.14 to 7 point scoreline.

Cork v Clare;

Preparations are in full swing for next Saturday nights pitch opening game between Cork and Clare. Clare’s victory over Kilkenny at the weekend puts them down as the form team in the country at the moment and we look forward to welcoming them to Cloyne for the game that will be a good workout before the league final against Waterford.

The official opening will be performed by Munster Council Chairman Jerry O’Sullivan at 4.30pm approx. with the game timed for 7pm.

GAA Golf Society;

The Golf society’s second outing of the year was held on Sunday last in Castlemartyr Resort. On a perfect day for golf we had 25 taking part with the prizewinners as follows,

1st Paudie O’Sullivan 41 pts.

2nd Eddie Conlon 38 pts.

3rd Dave Cusack 36 pts.

Front Nine Donal O’Shea 19 pts.

Back Nine Kevin O’Lomasney 21 pts.

Nearest the Pin Dermot O’Shea.

Longest Drive Derek Eaton.

Our next outing is on in Youghal Golf Club on Sunday 29th May.
