Imokilly  Player Profile

Name: Seamus Harnedy

Club:St. Ita's

Height:6ft 1ins

Weight:13st 9lbs

Honours Won :1 Munster SH Medal 2014, 1 All Star 2013, 2 Fitzgibbon Cups (UCC), 1 Fitzgibbon League, 3 Junior East Cork Football Medals (Glenbower Rovers), U-14, U-16, U-18 East Cork and County Hurling Medals, Junior East Cork and County Hurling Medals, U-21 East Cork and Football County Medals.

A native of the St. Ita's club based in Gortroe, near Youghal, Seamus also plays football with Glenbower Rovers.

He first played hurling at the age of 6 in his club grounds at Pilmore, and considers fielding and first touch to be the most important skills of the game. If he could change anything about hurling, he would like to see two points awarded for a sideline, and his best hurling memories outside of playing are Cork's All-Ireland wins in 1999 and 2004.

As a player, highlights have been winning the Fitzgibbon Cup with UCC, Playing for Imokilly, his Inter County Debut in 2013 and going on to play in an All Ireland Senior Final for Cork.

His favourite sport other than hurling is soccer, and as a child, he wanted to be a jockey! Joe Deane and Joe Canning are the greatest players he has ever seen, and if there was a transfer market, he would buy TJ Reid.

The people he would most like to meet are Mila Kunis and Cristiano Ronaldo, and marooned on a desert island, he could not do without a play station or a slice of pavlova!

In ten years' time, he hopes to be healthy and rich.
