Imokilly Senior Hurling Team News

Imokilly will take on Thurles Sarsfields in Thurles on Sunday 20th March, Cork take on Tipperary in the Senior Hurling league that day with a 2pm throw in, so you can make it a day out by going to both games. With these games on the calendar it will give everyone a chance to go along and support Imokilly in action. You know the dates so there is no excuse.

Each week we hope to introduce you to the members of the Imokilly Panel so this week we finally get to introduce Declan Dalton

This weeks Player Profile

Name: Declan Dalton

Club:- Fr O'Neills

Height:- 6'2"

Weight:- 90 Kg

DOB:- 6-11-1997

Current Job/College: Secondary School (Pobalscoil na Trionoide)

Fav Position: Anywhere

Honors won: Cork Senior and Under age Long Puck, Winning Premiership 1 Minor county league and championship, Load of under age finals.

Declans highlights in GAA include, Playing for the Cork Minors, Playing in the Harty cup with the school, and playing in many finals with my club Fr O Neills.  He would consider Henry Sheifflin, Joe Canning, Donal og Cusack as some of the greatest players in the game. For Declan the most important skill in the game is “First Touch” One of the people he would most like to meet is Cristiano Ronaldo. If he could change anything in Hurling He would make it a worldwide sport

One of Declans best Hurling Memories was playing in an U12 final against Sarsfields. With time up Fr O Neills were 2 points down and awarded a free Declan took the free and he scored a goal from the opposite 45 on the shortened field with literally the last puck of the game to go on and win at the final whistle. His favourite possessions are his hurleys, and his favourite sport other then hurling is Rugby.

And finally when asked In 10 yrs time he would he like to see himself be?.He replied In the army and hopefully on the Senior Cork Panel
