Junior Football Championship;

Serving up an excellent display of football that defied the terrible conditions we overcame Carrignavar to progress to round 3 of this year’s championship on a 2.06 to 7 point scoreline.

Playing against the strong wind and rain in the first half we trailed 4 points to 1 at the short whistle having defended very well in having given our opponents any sniff of a goal.

We started the second half in positive fashion taking the game to our opponents and when a Paudie O’Sullivan goal put us head for the first time we never looked back. All players defended and attacked as a unit and when a turn over in our full back line ended up with Colm O’Sullivan finishing to the net we were on the way to a well-deserved victory. Excellent point scoring kept Carrignavar at arms length and but for a 5 minute spell during the half we were well in control.

The victory for a largely young squad puts us in the 3rd round draw.

Int Hurling league v Blarney Thursday 31st March at 6.45 in Blarney.

Official Pitch Opening;

We are proud to announce that a very attractive Senior hurling game Cork v Clare will officially open our new complex in River St on Saturday 23rd April at 7o’clock.

An added attraction of this game of course is the presence of Diarmuid O’Sullivan and Donal Og Cusack on opposing management teams so a game not to be missed.

It was with sadness that we learned recently of the death of Mary Deady of Berkeley Court. Mary was a member of the popular Lewis family of St Colman’s Tce and all her brothers gave great service to the club as players over the years.
