Aghada Juvenile GAA Report

St. Patricks Day Parade:

Thanks to our mentors, players and parents who turned out in great numbers to take part in the annual St. Patricks Day Parade in Whitegate Village. The Green and White attire got decorated somewhat, to get into the atmosphere for ALL our local supporters on route. Our Juvenile Chairman Donal Walsh was very busy on the day as he got into the parade fever and later that evening put in a fantastic Oscar Performance as Fagin in the brilliant production of “OLIVER” presented by Aghada Centre Theatre Group. Congratulations to everyone involved in this Show. Hope we won’t lose too many of these local stars to HOLLYWOOD.

U10 Football Blitz:

Thanks to everyone that helped in anyway with our first U10 football blitz in Rostellan for the 2016 season. Your involvement with catering/match duties are very much appreciated by Committee and travelling clubs. Eight teams enjoyed their first day out in club jerseys, and are looking forward to an eventful programme of games for the months ahead. Aghada U10 coaches Declan and Matthew were unavailable for blitz but the players got expert advice from Pearse O’Neill who took over as Deputy Coach. He witnessed the great potential in both Aghada teams, and is said to be “seriously considering staying on a coach all the ways to senior level”!!!!! Try and support our young teams, as it only takes a few years when these players will be appearing on the CLUB PHOTO ARCHIVE (name the players)!!!!!

U21A Football Success:

Aghada U21 football team displayed a top performance of sheer skill, teamwork and ability to kick scores at any angle in the U21A East Cork Final V Glanmire on Saturday afternoon in St. Catherine’s GAA Grounds. No less than thirteen minor players are named on this year’s panel. Well done to team Coaches – Conor Counihan, Willie O Donoughue and John Wall on this great victory for Aghada Club. Photo shows proud parents of Captain Conor O’Driscoll –Seamus (Pitch Booking Officer) Michelle (Treasurer Aghada Ladies Football) enjoying the moment of glory.
