Club Lotto Results;

Our last lotto draw took place on Tuesday February 23rd where there was no winner of the €13,200 jackpot. Numbers for the draw were 10, 12, 25 and 30. Lucky dip winners were Angela Walsh, Mary Keniry, John Connelly and Eimear Flanagan. The jackpot prize for our next draw will be €13,400. It will take place in our clubhouse on Tuesday night, February 1st. You can now purchase your lotto ticket on-line; just follow the lotto link on the homepage of our website – www.killeaghgaa.org. Upcoming Club Events Diary2016:

We have dates and a brief note for events at our club for 2016 so please make a note in your diary.

 

Motorview Four-mile Road Race and Fun-run is scheduled for Sunday 13th March. The road race, which is very kindly sponsored by main Kia dealer Motorview Motors in Midleton, is fully authorised by the AAI and the course is accurately measured. There are lots of classification prizes and spot prizes on offer. Full pre and post-race amenities are available for all competitors at our club grounds in Pairc Ui Chinneide. Registration at the Race Headquarters in Pairc Ui Chinneide is from 9.00am and entry is €10 for runners and €5 for walkers. Walkers start at 9.30am and runners start at 11.00am. Our Annual Golf Society Away Weekend takes place in Kilkenny this coming weekend, see below

Our Golf Classic for 2016 is scheduled for July 14th-16th at West Waterford Golf and Country Club

GAA Cul Camp week for 2016 is scheduled for July 18th – 22nd at Pairc Ui Chinneide

East Cork Football/Hurling;

The draws for the East Cork Football C’Ship were made recently and full details of all draws and dates can be found on eastcorkgaa.com website

Our U21 footballers lost out to Glenville in the East Cork U21 B championship on Saturday February 27th with the final score being 3-14 to 1-4. Our junior footballers are due to play Ballinacurra on Thursday March 3rd and Carrigtwohill on Saturday 12th March at 15.00pm, both games are JFL Div 2 fixtures and both are in Killeagh. The team and selectors and club would appreciate your support so please try your best to come out and cheer your team. Details of all fixtures are available on www.eastcorkgaa.com

Red FM SHL/Cork SH Championship 2016:

Due to the very poor weather on Friday last, our opening game in the Red FM Cork SHL campaign for 2016 against Na Piarsaigh in Pairc Ui Chinneide was postponed. Their first game now is scheduled for Church Road against Blackrock on Sunday March 6th with the throw-in at 2.30pm. The team and selectors and club would appreciate your support so please try your best to come out and cheer your team.   

The preliminary round clash of Killeagh v Muskerry in the Cork SHC 2016 has been scheduled for Sunday May 15th in Pairc Ui Rinn with a throw-in time of 4.00pm with extra time to be played. Full details of all competition draws are available on gaacork.ie

Killeagh GAA Golf Society;

Killeagh GAA Golf Society are delighted to announce details of their annual away weekend of golf for 2016. It will take place on the weekend of March 4th and 5th. A great value weekend deal has been secured at the Aspect Hotel in Kilkenny where the cost per person sharing for 2 nights B and B and 1 evening dinner is €115. To book your stay please contact Mr Tim Crotty on 0872542193. Golf will be played on Friday in Callan for €25 and on Saturday in Kilkenny golf club for €30. Both courses offer fine course and clubhouse facilities and lend themselves to enjoyable golf breaks.  Accommodation is limited so you need to contact Tim as soon as possible to secure your place on what is always a very enjoyable weekend. A deposit of €25 is required at booking stage.

Annual Margaret Rochford and Tom Fitzgibbon Memorial Trophies:

A very successful charity outing was held in West Waterford Golf Club on Tuesday, February 23rd. Fifty one players turned up to play golf for the Open Invitational Margaret Rochford and Tom Fitzgibbon Memorial Trophies with proceeds going to the charity, Active Cancer Treatment (ACT). West Waterford Golf Club Vice-Captain for 2016, Mr Pat Power welcomed all the players to West Waterford and said it was a fantastic turnout for a very worthy cause and was a credit to all the organisers. He looked forward to seeing everybody back at West Waterford in 2017 and handed over the prize giving duties to Mr Ray Rochford. Overall winners were Mr Tommy Butler and Mr Robbie Dalton. Ray presented the Margaret Rochford trophy to Tommy Butler who had a score of 36 points and presented the Tom Fitzgibbon trophy to Robbie Dalton who finished with a score of 35 points. Ray congratulated both players on two great scorecards for the day. He thanked everybody for taking part in the outing and gave special mention to those who travelled long distances to play on the day.  He praised and thanked Mr Austin Spratt and all the staff at West Waterford Golf Club in helping with the outing and also for the fantastic course and facilities and also for keeping the rain away. Other results on the day were as follows: Trish Treacy in third with 35 pts, Best Gross was Ger Ahern, Richie Hurley and Phil Kinsella finished fifth and sixth respectively both returning with 35 points.
