Cloyne GAA Notes;

Lotto;

We had no winner of last week’s Lotto draw for a €3,800 jackpot or no winner of the €1000 prize for matching 3 numbers plus the bonus.

The winning numbers drawn were 10,14,16,21 bonus 8.

We had 3 match 3 winners who each receive €30.

Cloyne Commons Challenge;

The penultimate race in this year’s series took place last Sunday morning in dry blustery conditions.215 runners took to the line with the Leevale AC club having a great day with four of the top five finishers from the club. Victory going to Charlie O’Donovan in 12.40 the quickest time of the series so far. The first woman home was Eileen Leahy of Midleton AC in 16.29.A full list of the results can be found on the corkrunningblog.

The last race in this year’s series takes place on Sunday 20th March at 9.30am.

 

Allianz Hurling League;

Cork’s participation in league 1A for next year looks in jeopardy after their second loss of the campaign to an impressive Waterford team. Cork currently prop up the table with zero points from their 2 games and their next assignment is away to Dublin in Croke Park on Saturday 5th March a match they simply have to win if they are to have any hope of making the quarter finals.Paudie O’Sullivan saw limited game time but almost snatched a draw at the death bringing a fine save from the Waterford keeper.

 

Fixtures;

The Intermediate hurlers get their league campaign under way on next Sunday 28th February at 3pm making the long trek to Charleville to take on the 2015 Junior champions.

The following week we welcome Ballinhassig to Cloyne please keep an eye out locally and on social media for updates on this fixture.

The U21 footballers now under the St Colman’s banner will be the first team into championship action in 2016 when they take on Lisgoold in a quarter final tie on March 5th
