Cloyne Gaa Notes;

We had no winner of last week’s Lotto draw for a €3,400 jackpot or no winner of the €1000 prize for matching 3 numbers plus the bonus.

The winning numbers drawn were 5, 6, 11, 25 bonus 22.

Congratulations to Betty Aherne c/o Bunty Cahill and Eileen Murphy c/o Ray Cusack who both matched 3 numbers and receives €75.

Next week’s draw for a €3,600 jackpot will be held in Harty’s Bar and Restaurant with tickets available from all local outlets and committee members...

Upcoming Games;

This year’s U21 team will come under the St Colman’s banner and they have been drawn against Lisgoold in the second round of the B football championship which is due to be played on the 26th February.

The first Division 1 hurling league game is down for the 28th February away to Charleville.

The Junior A footballers begin their league campaign away to Glenville (where else?) at the end of the month.

The Junior A football championship will be against Carraig Na Bhfear with the losers playing the losers of Midleton/Carrigtohill in round 2.

Cloyne had a successful outing at the final of the East Cork Scor with Michael Greaney winning the Aithriseoireacht competition and also becoming the inaugural winner of the Jim O’Connor Cup.

The Ceol Uilise group came second with only the winners progressing to the County Final.

The County Final was held in Ovens on Sunday night last with Michael Greaney performing excellently in coming in second place in a strong competition.

Unfortunately only the winner progresses to the Munster Final.We are grateful to Michael and his team for their efforts this year and also to Cultural Officer Willie Ring for co-ordinating affairs.
