Glenville GAA Club Newsletter
February 7th 2016

We may be still in February but the fixture list is fast approaching in the Glenville GAA Camp.
The Juvenile’s playing season will begin on the 20th with the fixtures set to release this Year.  This Year will see the Minor Footballers play in the A grade division this year as for the under 15 and under 12 Footballers will see them play in the premier division. Under 15 will be premier 2 for the fourth coming season as for the under 12 will see them jump up to premier 1 what a season in prospect it will be for these lads.
Under 16 Will be in the B Division while the under 14 will retain their status in the Premier 2 Division and finally our under 13 will be in the A Division. An exciting season a head for these lads we hope that there will be few injuries and loads of silver wear to come.
There was been reasonable action on the playing pitch this week as the under 21 had a five point victory against Clyda Rovers in the latest round of the Dick Cahill Cup. On the other had the minor Footballers finished all square after an exciting game against Glanmire?

Friday February 5TH Dick Cahill Cup v Clyda Rovers
Venue Clyda
Glenville 2-11
Clyda Rovers 1-9
Our under 21 footballers continued their preparation for the championship with a five point win over a dogged Clyda side. Played in the below freezing conditions which is normal for this time of year. Both Teams played out a very even first half and there was nothing to separate the sides at the interval 1-5 apiece.
Glenville came out all guns blazing in the second as we took the Game to Clyda putting over some superb scores. At times our defence was carved right open but our brilliant keeper Cathal Maloney came to the rescue. In the end we ran out five point winners over all a good performance next up for the under 21 is Glenabower rovers on February 20th.
Saturday February 6th Minor Football Challenge v Glanmire
Venue Glanmire
Glenville 0-9
Glanmire 0-9
Last Saturday Morning saw the minor Footballers travel down to Glanmire for a Challenge match. After a very cagey first half both teams found themselves level at 0-3 apiece. Slowly but finding their feet we began to open up and contribute to a great game of football with some delightful scores been put over. At the end both teams finished level a fair result to say. Well done to both sides on great game of football.
