Annual General Meeting:

The AGM of Killeagh GAA Club was held in the club meeting room at Pairc Ui Chinneide on Friday November 20th 2015. There was a fantastic turnout for this meeting which led to great contributions and lively debate from the floor on the various topics discussed. Outgoing chairman, Mr. Kieran Scully went through the year’s activities both on and off the pitch which turned out to be a very special year with many highs and a few lows. The highlight of the year had to be the completion of our roadway which finally completed our development of a very fine asset to the members, players, visitors and to the local community. He conveyed his thanks to everybody who played a part in the clubs activities throughout the year and hoped that they would continue to play a part in the GAA Clubs efforts into the future. He introduced his successor, Mr. Padraig McGrath and wished him well in his three year tenure. Padraig addressed the floor saying how proud he was to be taking the reins from Kieran as the new club chairman and set out his aims for the club and its members for the coming year. Both men received generous applause and appreciation from all present. Our club Secretary Ray Dwyer presented a full and expansive account of the club year and was praised for his good work and recording of all aspects of the clubs activities. Mr. Ger Ahern as club Treasurer presented a full income/expenditure accounts record which tracked every cent and euro received and spent during the year. Kieran also thanked a wide range of people, too numerous to mention individually, who gave their services voluntarily in the interest of our GAA club throughout the year. Areas of voluntary service for the club were photography, grounds maintenance and running repairs, sponsorship in one form or another, many forms of fundraising, a fantastic website and club IT service, club shop, lotto sales, transport, refreshments and much, much more. Officers and committee members were elected with many volunteers putting their names forward for inclusion on the committee. Officers for the coming year as follows: President is Mr. David Scully, Chairman is Mr. Padraig McGrath, Vice Chairman is Mr. Adrian Budds, club Secretary is Mr. Ray Dwyer, club Treasurer is Mr. Ger Ahern, club PRO is Mr. Paul Delaney, Registrar is Mr. Kieran Scully, club Children’s Officer is Mary Fitzgibbon, club Cultural Officer is Mr. David Scully. The meeting was brought to a close shortly after and those attending were treated to food and refreshments which were organized by Mary Collins and her helpers which was greatly appreciated by everybody. We would like to thank once again all those who attended and contributed in any way to such a successful end of year AGM.
