St Colman’s

The St Colman’s minor hurlers just came up short in their quest to add the Premier 2 league title to their championship crown. Valley Rovers were the opposition on their home patch in Brinny on a bitterly cold afternoon.

Playing against the wind in the first half the half time score of 6 pts to 2 didn’t seem too insurmountable and when Brian Walsh goaled within 30 seconds of the restart the victory looked possible. The wind that blew down the field in the first half died down considerably and the fired up Valley Rvs outfit just managed to stay ahead with some fine point scoring.

St Colman’s had the deficit down to the minimum entering injury time but a breakaway goal put the issue beyond doubt with Valley’s winning on a 1.12 to 1.08 scoreline.

Well done to all the players and management on a successful year despite

Sunday’s result.

Christmas Swim;

Last year’s Christmas Swim was an unprecedented success with over 70 swimmers taking to the water on a beautiful morning in Ballycroneen.

This year’s quest is to break the 100 barrier so everyone is herby put on notice so spread the word and poke out the togs or wetsuits.
