Killeagh Camogie are County Champions

Congratulations and well done to the camogie minor team on becoming county champions. They won the final at Castle Road on Sunday 8th November against Sars on a scoreline of 3-11to 1-10. Well done to all involved in this victory.

Killeagh-Ita's;

Sean Lavery Memorial Tournament

The Sean Lavery Tournament which we had scheduled to run on Sunday November 8th was deferred for a number of reasons. We hope to be able to run it next weekend – we will let you know the arrangements.

U12 Parish Leagues

Our U12 Parish Leagues have been moved to Thursday 12th November @ 6.30 p.m. to avoid a clash with the Inch NS Sciath Na Scol Final which is on Wednesday 11th @ 11.00 in Mayfield GAA.

Who? Where? When? What?

One of our Under 16 players, Barry Motherway, has been selected by his school, Pobalscoil na Tríonóide, to travel to Kolkata (Calcutta) in India next March with the HOPE Foundation, along with Ciara Crowley from Youghal and a larger group of second-level students. To aid Barry and Ciara’s fundraising efforts, a Table Quiz will be held in Hickey’s Bar (Long’s), Mount Uniacke on Friday November 13th @ 8.30 p.m. All proceeds from the night will go directly to HOPE Foundation, so all support would be greatly appreciated. A fun night is assured, all for a good cause.

Juvenile meetings and AGM – Monday November 30th

We will have our Final Juvenile Meeting on Monday November 9th @ 8.30 p.m. Please try to have every team / age group represented by at least one mentor at this meeting.

The AGM of Killeagh-Ita’s Juvenile Club takes place in the meeting room of Páirc Uí Chinnéide on the last day of this month, Monday November 30th @ 7.30 p.m. We would like as large a turnout as possible of parents, club members and current players to review our many activities of 2015 and to begin to plan for 2016 and beyond. Spread the word, and put a big circle around November 30th in your diary.

Scór

The promotion of Scór at adult and juvenile levels has helped to play an important role on the revival of our culture and heritage. Both juveniles and adults in towns and villages throughout the East Cork Division have been afforded the opportunity to interact in the best of Irish culture. It is imperative that we continue to promote Scór as it really adds to the overall value to the Club unit. Scór provides the potential to bring the Club to all the community thus increasing membership, support and greater community interest in the Club. The Scór na nÓg Finals (Imokilly) were held in Lisgoold Hall on Sunday night 8th November and our club had representatives in a number of categories. In the Grupai Ceoil (music group) Kieran Daly, Cait Delaney, Anna Sheehan and Therese and Miriam Keniry performed very well and finished in third place (1st and 2nd go through), Barry and Dara Motherway, Fionn McDonnell and Cathal Fitzgibbon came second in the Tra na gCeist (table quiz), Therese Keniry competed in the solo singing where she performed Sliabh Geal gCua and she came second in the Aithriseoireacht

(Storytelling) where she performed an extract from Jimeen. Well done to all our young and talented performers for coming out and representing their club and also thanks to Colman and Ursula for coordinating all entries.
