Cloyne GAA Notes;

02 November, 2015

We had no winner of last week’s Lotto draw for a €10,200 jackpot or no winner of the €1000 prize for matching 3 numbers plus the bonus.

The winning numbers drawn were 4,19,21,24 bonus 26.

Congratulations to Des Hurley Castlemary who was the only match 3 winner and wins €150.

Next week’s draw for a €10,400 jackpot will take place in Harty’s Bar and Restaurant with tickets available from all local outlets and committee members.

After soldiering together on the battlefields of Ireland for many years it’s quite possible that Diarmuid O’Sullivan and Donal Og Cusack could do battle once again but this time on the sideline. This comes about in light of the announcement that Donal Og has taken up a position with Davy Fitzgerald’s Clare and Diarmuid is a new selector on Kieran Kingston’s Cork team.

We wish them both well in their respective roles.

Cork and Clare’s gain is certainly Cloyne’s loss with Donal Og bringing the curtain down on his playing career and Diarmuid noncommittal on his playing intentions for 2016.They both owe the club nothing and have been huge players for the club over the last 20 years or so instrumental in our rise to the top table of Hurling in Cork.

It was a week-end of mixed fortunes for East Cork teams where congratulations go to Dungourney on their excellent replay win over Cloughduv in the Junior Hurling final and commiserations to Ballinacurra who narrowly lost out to Ballingeary in the Junior B football final.

Dungourney now join near neighbours and fellow parishioners Castlemartyr and fellow East Corkonians Aghada and Father O’Neills in the hat for the 2016 Intermediate hurling draw.

Best Wishes and a speedy recovery to clubman Jerry O’Sullivan former East Cork and County Board Chairman and current Munster Council Vice Chairman who was involved in a car accident recently and is currently hospitalised.
