Junior A Footballers Crowned Division 2 League Champions for the first time ever

Glenville’s Junior A Footballers were crowned Division 2 League Champions for the first ever after a four point win against a strong a physical Aghada Side. On a lovely morning for football both teams served up a great game. After a very even first it was 1.03 to 0.07 in the opposition favour. The second half continued in the

same vein and after a great hour’s play we came away with a four point win a great performance by the whole panel this result means we will be playing Division 1 Football next season a magnificent achievement by the club. We hope to complete the double in two weeks’ time when the attention turns to the Junior B as they face Rivals Carraig Na Bhfear in the Division 3 Final. Under 12 A Football cup Tournament Semi Final v Mayfield

Glenville’s under 12 Footballers have booked their place in this Year Cup Final after a thrilling encounter against Mayfield when this cup tie was played under lights on a calm afternoon in Fouhy Park. In Contrast this was the third meeting between these sides with Mayfield the victorious on both occasions. On a lovey night for football both teams played out a magnificent game and after a very nip and tuck fir half it was 1.4 to 2.02 in Mayfield’s favour. The second half continued at the same pace as both teams went score for score and it was looking like it was going to be extra time but in the final five minutes the Glenville lads reached fifth gear as they outscored the opposition 2.03 to 0.00. in the end we came away with a nine point win by far this was the best display from the

under 12 team this year we will now look forward to the final this coming weekend against Whitechurch.

Lotto Results

There was no winner of the lotto jackpot that was worth €5800. Winning numbers on the night were 18, 22, 25 and 31. Small Cash Prize winners were John O’Donoghue, Finola Bracken, Denis O’Leary and John Ford next week’s jackpot is worth €5900.
